Salam HI family and photographers,

I'm very sorry for not updating this precious blog of ours for such a long time. For those bday celebrants for months of Dec'09 until to-date, I would also apologize for the no-greeting post. It was such a pity that I was not able to announce the marriage of our 2 team members as well :(

But but, I always believe the saying of 'better late than never'. So now, though it was way way back for some of you, please accept my sincere apology and my very late greeting on behalf of all family members & photographers.. Especially to: Bibing, Alai aka Umi, Dani, Salwa, Guntor Junior, Abang, Edah, Mas, T-Nan, Tiara, Nanie, Adi, Ekah, Anti Kiah, Mom, Danish, Ngah Ejack, Nonie, Kaka Kechemong, Zal, Alai Feeqah, Hafizh, Hasbi, Bobby, Zila & Ejack..

DEC'09

There was no family day. The family of Fizah spent almost 1-mth at Australia for graduation of Salwa plus holiday..

JAN'10

Zal and Nanie, our lovely couple, got married on the 15th. Congratulations!! I do hope that they can share their happy moments with us *hint hint for your photos haha*
New photographers had also joined and started their tasks with Zal & Nanie. Hmm kan kahwin pun kena keluar menggambar yerr.. Nasib photographers lah tu!! Ok, let us give a warm welcome to Uda Jol and Apen.

FEB'10

We had our 1st family BBQ gathering at our newly resort (sorry wasn't pay attention to the place name) on the 26th. Fun Fun Fun!! Thanks to those committees for the excellent preparation and smooth event.

4 active HIP members (Zal, Nanie, Uda Jol, Apen) were assigned to wedding tasks.

As our newcomers do not have HIP Polo Shirt, it was decided to take this opportunity to do new Polo Shirt design. The design will be out soon! And it was planned that the shirt will be ready by May. It will be BLACK in color! Nice~ Will keep you posted with the update, hopefully *takut nda te-update bah*
Ahah! When the photography team has new design shirt, the family also insisted to have new Polo Shirt, to get ready with our 2010 Family Day. This is currently arranged by Alai Umi.

We are proud to announce our 1ST ANNIVERSARY on the 31st August, 2009 (Monday).

Throughout our 1st year, our journey of life is just like newborn.. We started off with learning exploring and experimenting all sorts of photography challenges. We upgraded ourselves from being unexpert in this field to semi- and pro for some of us. We can now talk the same language with any local and even international photographers. We offered and accepted services from any range of customers and most of them were satisfied with what we had provided them with. Of course, all our hardwork is resulted from our teamwork. We have worked this far to achieve what we have now and our aim is to go beyond what seems to be impossible.

Thanks for all of you that has bring up our team to where we are now - especially our photographers, non-photographers, family, relatives, friends, customers, sponsors!! We are looking forward for another year ahead!!

HAPPY 1ST ANNIVERSARY, H.I.Photography!!

Day 3 @ KL 15-8-2009

Morning to afternoon session:

Just found out that our expensive room rate didn't include breakfast.... It's a big day for H.I.Photographers to attend the KLPF 2009 at Mid-Valley. So, all gathered at the lobby and began our day with hunting breakfast.. That's where we started our walk to 'Sungei Weng' Plaza as it's the nearest to our hotel. Up down the dead escalator (hmm foot massage again 2nite 4 Ngah Jamil, i supposed... hehe), none of the food restaurant or court was opened. Out from the plaza, so we decided to go to McD (sorry our dear Usu and Ngah Jamil)... NO CHOICE early early mornen. After breakfast, the team left Ngah Jamil, Uda Jol n Usu Nani in the hand of mine... Jadi tour guide was my duty for the trip. Sorry KLPF, no chance to go there!!

Evening session:

Saturday nite... ZOuk 4 some people, DVD + Snacking for youngsters...

Day 2 14-8-2009

Morning session:

After breakfast, we had our shopping tour at Mid-Valley. Some of us terjah jerr barang2 kat situ as if tak derr lagi shopping lepas tu... Kekeke.. Our curfew to meet at the hotel lobby was at 12noon. We decided to check out from the hotel and moved to Bukit Bintang area, Federal hotel. Phew!! Room at Cititel was good but we were placed on the smoking floor which bothered some of us. Nak tukar bilik, full plak!! Lagi plak, we all nak enjoyed kat BB. Excitement, entertainment, enjoyment, you name it, we can get all this at BB.

Checked out around 1pm. Hired van (and driver) to pick us up from Cititel to Federal.

Afternoon session:

Had our quick lunch at KFC Sungei Wengggg Plaza. Pity our Ngah Jamil & Usu - terpaksa ikut cara anak2 muda, tmpt makan pilih sesuka ati jerrr.... Tak perr, asal alas perut ckit dah lah tu!! After lunch, we took train going to Masjid Jamek. Tak bleh lah nak naik taxi oiii... Kan kiter ramai.. Awas!! Orang Brunei pegi Masjid India, biasalah tu.. Sapu habis kain kat sana.. Hehe, maklum nak raya kan? We went separate ways from there. Some went straight back to hotel. Us - we went to Sogo 1st, SALE!! SALE!! SALE!! Handbags, perfumes, shoes, watches... Grab all we can and want!! Sempat gak chilled kat Secret Recipe before balik hotel.

Evening session:

Walked back to hotel from 1 train stop (cant remember its area name, huh!!) to our hotel. Menghirup udara KL sambil berposing2 begambar.. Kaki dah nak patah pun mampu gak nak pose yerr!! Muka dah basi pun tak kisah dah! About 1/2hour, we reached hotel. Perut plak terasa lapar!! So, out again to Pavillion! Dinner at 9ish pm.

Though we didn't plan ahead of what we want 2 do during our stay at KL, i could say we were very busy busy busy shopping 4 ppl we left at Brunei. Throughout the day, our Ngah Jamil mencari2 DURIAN... tak kesampaian! Sia-sia pun! Esuk kiter cari lagi yerr..

Brunei to KL 13-8-2009

Photos were taken on board and at KL terminal building. We arrived at KLIA at about 10+ at nite, Took 2 cabs (1 van & 1 Merc) headed to our hotel - Cititel MidValley. Arrived at the hotel around 11ish pm. Checked in, rest for a while, then went out cari-cari kadai makan yg still open. At that tym was around 12-1am. Luckily there's 1 kedai mamak still buka, cant recall wat's its name. Anyway, yg kebulur tu, order mknan... We tasted the 'tea layer'... Mcm kenal jerr rasanyerr... Oh yerr... In Brunei, it is known as tea tarik special... Rasa tu memang tak sama tapi serupa kot!!

Tonight, our team will be flying off to one of the photography festivals held in KL (details as below). This is part of our team monthly activities - coincide with our anniversary month. All team members were informed and offered few months ago to join this outing. However, some members couldn't make it due to their personal constraints.

Our members going to this event - Ngah Jamil 180, Faizal 088, Nanie 502, Fizah 110, Zal 903, Alai Shikin 213, Peej 011, Hafizh 253 and myself. Of course, we will be accompanied by our family members - Usu Nanie and Uda Jol.

We thanked our 'orang kuat' at GPPS (Uncle Lid) for arranging our sponsor for this trip - GPPS and Hyundai Setia Motors (i think so??). Hope we are able to gain some knowledge and exposure from this event.

Reminder: to bring and wear your HIP t-shirt during this event. Your camera too!!

Kuala Lumpur Photography Festival (KLPF) is Malaysia's first and only combination of photography and travel events, which comprises a series of photography exhibitions, forums, seminars, slides shows and contests, for a period of two days. The Yearly Photography Festival organized by Photo Creator Publication (Advanced Images Magazine, Photo Creator Magazine, Travelmate Magazine & Travelution Magazine).

The KLPF offers FREE ENTRY to the public. The event will showcase state-of-the-art digital cameras, printers and solutions that feature the latest digital imaging products, product demonstrations and seminars.

In conjunction with this event, photography contests will be held with attractive prizes. It aims to promote photography as a healthy hobby, encourage interaction and extend the festival experiences among readers, photography enthusiasts, upcoming photographers, travelers and others.

After our long break from monthly contests, the management has decided to introduce our 6-monthly Photography Challenge 2009. Each member will be distributed with an envelope of the contents.

Themes:

July 2009 - Perarakan Sempena Sambutan Hari Keputeraan KDYMM
August 2009 - Black & White
September 2009 - Motorcross / Go Kart
October 2009 - Ibadah di Bulan Puasa
November 2009 - Warna Warni Aidil Fitri
December 2009 - Sports

*Themes might be changed depending on valid circumstances.

Objectives:

As part of our team activity to promote learning and creativity.
To determine the progress and development of each member from month to month.

Registration & Eligibility:

Entry to the challenge is free and compulsory for all HIP members.
Photography Challenge 2009 will commence from the 1st July 2009 to 1st January 201o.
Official entry form can be downloaded from here in the near future. For more information, please contact either Eamy HIP-547 or Alai HIP-012.

Rules:

Entries submitted should be relevant to the theme provided.
All entries must be original work. The entrants must be the sole owner of copyright in all photos entered and must have obtained permission of any people featured in the entries.
Entry form must be submitted:

(1) together with ONE photograph per month per theme.

(2) in 6R size, without border and glossy.

(3) in either colour or monochrome. Black and white is ONLY permitted for the theme of the month.

(4) in both printed and digital jpeg format.

(5) each photograph must be submitted with a photo title of not more than 10 words on what the photo represents on you.

In an effort for non-biased votes, photographs submitted should not have names on them. These photographs will be assigned codes by the committees representing the owner of the photographs and the monthly themes.

Entries must be submitted latest on the 1st of the following month, 7 p.m. For instance, for July 2009, entries are to be submitted on the 1st of August 2009.
Entries received after the monthly closing date and time will not be accepted for whatever the reason. Incomplete entries received will also be disqualified.

Assessment:

All entries will be assessed by a panel of judges. The judging criteria will be based on photo fit and relevance to the theme, composition, creativity, technical quality and overall impression. The judges' decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
Each photograph will be given marks. At the end of the 6th month, marks will be summed up to get an average mark of each member.

Prizes:

There will be no monthly prizes. However, top 3 photographs selected for the month / theme will be published here upon knowing the result.
Highest 3 average marks at the end of 6th month will receive 1st to 3rd winner prizes. Each entrant will nevertheless receive participation certificate.

It was a rainy day but we enjoyed our time. Difficulties working in our home district... we could not really concentrate in photoing...most of the time we socialized with public and relatives(byk yg kenal and menagur, kalau nda d layan kana ucap sombong krg). Ended up, some of our team members besungut "NO TOUCH" that day..and very frustrated.

Itsy Bitsy Spider

The itsy bitsy spider crawled up the birthday cake,

he ate up all the frosting,

and got a tummy ache,

and when they brought the ice cream,

he ate even more,

and the itsy bitsy spider fell sick upon the floor.

They took him to the doctor because he felt so bad,

it was the worst tummy ache that he ever had,

and when they brought the medicine it was WAY TOO SWEET,

just a drink of water would be a great big treat,so the itsy bitsy spider crawled up the water spout,

down came the rain and washed the spider out

Out came the sun and dried up all the rain.

And the itsy bitsy spider went up the spout again

It's good to eat - but even more -

On the 28th of March 2008 (Saturday), we had successfully celebrated our 1st quarterly event of the year, that was our 3-in-1 event. We had blended 3 events into 1 celebration at the Residence of Awg Zolkepli bin Haji Ibrahim (Uda Jol).

1st: Official House Warming or House Opening Ceremony.
2nd: Marchians Bday Celebration for family and team members.
3rd: Prize presentation for our photography contest.

Theme for the nite: red or white. Though it was a last minute decision, about 90% attended with the theme outfit. Thanks for being supportive to us!!

The nite was attended by more than 100 people. MC of the nite: Ngah Kub. He managed to make the event lively and happening. Thumbs-up! Shortly after Isya' prayer, everyone had settled down as well, the event was started with Bacaan Doa Selamat by our Usu Massa. We were then entertained with slideshow of Uda Jol's house development stages (need to check with HIP-502 if it's possible to publish the slideshow here for your viewing). After, all were invited to visit our gallery displays and to vote their photo preferences.

Next was blowing candles and singing birthday song session. Followed by MAKANNNNN time!! Saat yang dinanti-nantikan ne... Thanks to our sponsors!! We've got nasi briyani (HIP-799), all-fav udang (Usu Nanie), chix (Ngah Jamil & HIP-012), ambuyat (HIP-110), etc etc... Food was more than enuff (as usual) coz ada sesi tapau menapau lagi tu... Finally, the moments most of the photographers have been waiting for... announcement of the contest winners, most rated photos followed by prize presentation. Prior to that, there was a certification presentation session to all contestants.

I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all the working committees for the job well done, and contest winners for winning!! We would also like to thank the house owners (Uda Jol & T-Nan) for allowing us to hold our event at their home sweet home.

Overall it was an enjoyable and successful event with lots of constructive suggestions and comments received for our future events. We surely hoped that all attended the event were satisfied with the services and programs offered.

Uda's Home Sweet Home

After waited for about 7 months, dengan izin Allah, the home construction is finally completed and our Uda Jol had officially migrated to his newly bungalow grey house at Kampong Tanjong Maya, Tutong on the 26th February, 2009 (1st Rabiulawal 1430H) at about 11p.m. Attended by Uwa Hj Ali, Uwa Hjh Siti Ala, Ngah Napi, Ngah Dayang, Uncle Lid, Usu Nanie, Udin, HIP-012, 088, 110, 163, 253, 502, and 547. Segala macam doa dibacakan oleh our Usu Massa dengan kusyuk sekali... Sampaikan HIPs tummies wanted to melatop!!! The grand finale was.... mid-nite dinner (sponsored by Usu Nanie) and sesi recall banjir that recently happened in the village.

House warming celebration is planned for end-Mar 2009, including birthday celebrations for Marchians and HIP quarterly event. So team, please make yourself available on the day and we gonna have fun!!!

HIP-163, Nikon

We call her Salwa. An easy-going and friendly person. An independent person as well. Though she's a bit ladylike, she's adventurous and likes to challenge her abilities. Probably, she'd meredah hutan-hutan di Brunei (plus in Aussy) and more familiar with dat part of the world than our senior citizens. That's why she becomes our granny's pet: bagi nini, she's our 'Perempuan Melayu Terakhir' that's not a city-type (HIP-110, jgn jeles ah... :p). Besides that, I notice she also loves kids.

Just like HIP-120, she was put in as HIP member by our family members. She's temporarily our non-active member as she's currently taking her Master in Conservative in Brisbane. Her interests are more towards exploring our nature (flora and fauna). Her previous degree study focused on studying the plants (including how they can be useful for medication purpose). Now, she's studying on animals... She's the 1st in the family that pursues Master and hopefully until PhD. Amin!! Salute her and we all are very proud of her. And also, pray for the best for her!!

This is where the photography comes about for her. She loves the environment and turns all her experiences, findings into priceless and valuable collection of hers by photographing while she's on & off the field. Of course, she's the first girl to own Nikon in the family. She's more into capturing scenery photos.

As she was here in Jan & Feb09, she participated in our Nov08 contest. She also managed to join one of our Natural Disaster Outings.

Call him E-jack. Similar to the wife, he is of quiet and down-to-earth person. During the establishment of our hierarchy, he was included as one of the team members.

Contributions to the team:

Our certified safety officer for outdoor events. During Bukit Shahbandar Challenge, he's coincidently on duty and he assisted us on tracking HIP-903.
Our aerobic instructor.

Due to the 'always wrong timing' of meetings for him, he managed to first attend in February 2009. Our hope in the future that he would become one of the team photographers.

With reference to our meeting dated 15 Feb 2009, we are now launching our monthly contests and they're open to our public.

February Theme: NATURAL DISASTER

March Theme: NATIONAL DAY

The rules and regulations are as before:

Contest Fee: $5 per theme
HIP member can submit up to 4 photos per theme, and for non-member up to 2 photos per theme.
Format: 6R, withOUT border, glossy
Photos can be edited but the colour remains natural. No black and white photo is allowed.
For consistency, photos should ONLY be printed and stamped at Rose Photo Studio Tutong.
Kindly put your HIP code (for member) and name (for non-member) at the back of each photo.
Photos should be submitted latest on the 15th March 2009 (Sunday) before 8p.m.
Kindly submit them together with the entry form, contest fees, and softcopy of photos to Umi or Eamy. Please click here for entry form.

Hello Team,

Firstly, we thank you for your contribution of ideas and participation in the voting process. All mottos are very inspirational and hope we make use of them for some other purposes. It's absolutely a hard time especially when we had to choose only 1 of the so-many good mottos.

Anyway, based on the poll results, 37% voted for motto #23. Therefore, I would like to announce our official motto, effective 20 Feb 2009:

We explore, we discover, we capture, we enjoy, we share

Congratulations to HIP-502 for providing the most favorable motto. The motto is self-explanatory. Now, it's time for our HIP-799 to design our official logo. Good luck!!

Another Alai of the family & team. When we are referring her, we normally specify 'Alai Jamil' or 'Alai Shikin'. Still a student and joins the school photography club. She's also the school official photographer, if I understands it correctly.

Kecik-kecik cili api ~ that's her. I admire so much, j'adore in french, her works. Some might look simple but it's really nice to see. Her photos can tell story to us.

She's one of our Games committee members. Her greatest contribution was that she managed to hike through the 9th hill of Bukit Shahbandar back in January 2009 ~ the only lady team member with the rest of our guys. Other ladies awal dah semput...

She ever won the 3rd place of Great Eastern contest. She's also our wedding photographer.

This is posted to share our team members the background of GPPS as we are currently promoting its name by using its free T-Shirts. Credits to GPPS. With this knowledge, every member has the opportunity to answer to the curiosity of public. Gerakan Pakatan Pemuda Sukarela (GPPS) mengadakan mesyuarat pertama penubuhannya pada 4 March, 1962 jam 9.00 pagi bertempat di Sekolah Melayu Muda Hashim, Tutong. Surat pertama yang telah dihantar kepada mereka yang dijemput hadir kemesyuarat itu bertarikh 25 February, 1962 yang ditandatangani oleh Mohd. Suni bin Idris b/p Jawatankuasa Perancang GPPS iaitu 47 tahun yang lalu.

Kali terakhir GPPS mengadakan Mesyuarat Agung Tahunan ialah pada 8 Mei 1981 iaitu 28 tahun yang lalu. Mesyuarat Agung Tahunan ditahun-tahun berikutnya tidaklah dapat diadakan seperti sepatutnya mengikut di Peruntukan dalam Undang-Undang penubuhan GPPS disebabkan beberapa masalah yang tidak dapat dielakkan seperti Ahli Jawatankuasa Tertinggi bertugas di luar negeri dan ada yang meninggal dunia.

Satu mesyuarat untuk menghidupkan kembali Persatuan ini telah diadakan pada 31 March 2000 bertempat di Bilik Mesyuarat Jabatan Belia dan Sukan Daerah Tutong yang dihadiri oleh beberapa orang ahli sebagai badan Bertindak Sementara, bagi memantau perjalanan pentadbiran persatuan dan menasihati untuk mengadakan Mesyuarat Agung. Dalam usaha pembentukan itu, satu perjumpaan atas sokongan ahli jawatankuasa lama telah bersetuju untuk mengadakan Mesyuarat Agung. Sebelum mengadakan Mesyuarat Agung, beberapa mesyuarat-mesyuarat telah diadakan termasuklah berbincang beberapa pindaan Undang-Undang Tubuh GPPS. Undang-Undang Tubuh GPPS telah diadakan dua kali pindaan iaitu pada tahun 1980 dan 2000. Pada tahun 2000 yang lalu, Undang-Undang Tubuh GPPS telah dibuat untuk disesuaikan dengan perkembangan masa ini.

GPPS mula bergerak aktif selepas Mesyuarat Agung pada 29 Rabiulawal 1421 bersamaan dengan 2 Julai 2000 (Ahad) bertempat di Bilik Mesyuarat Komplek Sukan, Daerah Tutong dengan penubuhan sebuah jawatankuasa baru.

Ahli Jawatankuasa Tertinggi GPPS (Sesi 2008-2010) terdiri daripada:

Persatuan ini dinamakan Gerakan Pakatan Pemuda Sukarela, ringkasnya GPPS, dalam bahasa Inggeris United Youth Voluntary Movement.

Pusat Kedudukan Persatuan ini ialah di Daerah Tutong dan beribu Pejabat dimana sahaja tempat yang bersesuaian bagi menjalankan pentadbirannya.

Sesiapa sahaja yang berasal atau bermastautin di Daerah Tutong boleh memohon untuk menjadi ahli setelah mencapai umur 15 tahun dengan cara mengisi borang permohonan yang telah disediakan oleh Persatuan ini dan mengembalikan kepada Setiausaha Agung. Permohonan tersebut akan dibincangkan oleh Jawatankuasa Tertinggi dan keputusannya akan dimaklumkan kepada pemohon dengan cara pemberian sijil ahli.

Pemohon yang diterima menjadi ahli di kehendaki membayar sebanyak $20 (Dua Puluh Ringgit Sahaja) sebagai wang pendaftaran.

Our PRO3: Mohd Fazari bin Mohd Zaili

Fazari was written in his form. But, most or all of us call him Memet. He was introduced into the team by our HIP-026. Honestly speaking, we are still in the process of getting to know him better.

He joined the team in November 2008 and attended the first meeting in December 2008. He has a lot of good ideas & because he's capable of selling himself to people, he was immediately placed to work with our other 2 PROs.

Contributions to the team:

Putting in one potential sponsor for the team
Assisted in doing our package rates for customers.

Summary from both contests:

Extended due date (extra 3 dys) was suggested by 547 and agreed by 502.
Informed to our Advisor a week after.

For confidentiality issues, the financial report for 2008 & Jan 2009 will be kept by: Finance, Chairman, Secretary & to be submitted to GPPS upon request.
2 still haven't pay the 2008 monthly fees.
Provide quarterly statement of account to each member.

PROs:

2008: So far, so good. Commented by 180 on Family Day: Excellent but to reduce on food supply.
2009: team welfare such as outing & workshop: needs suggestion from team members. Any suggestion on outing, please provide details (venue, date, contact person) to PRO1.
Issues on team member availability & finance were addressed.
Outing will be carried on with 3 or more members confirmed attending the outing.
Ground of rule: 1 outing per month to be maintained for the meantime. Additional outings will be at own personal expenses (such as collection of $3 for refreshments).
